Several years ago, Tony and a few friends wrote a screenplay called, “The Bodyguard’s Bodyguard.” The screenplay puts a humorous spin on all the bullets Tony Delvecchio dodged–or nearly dodged–over the course of his life. From pissing off Newark’s feared Boiardo family by donating blood, to running numbers in Morristown during a statewide sting operation, to refusing John Gotti’s offer to “make” him, to running a defiant 24-hour bar in the boondocks of Jersey, to reopening legendary Jilly’s in New York, to serving federal prison time for Jilly Rizzo and his friends, it’s all here. This is the next “Goodfellas.”
